"Food, Inc"

After watching “Food, Inc.”, I was very surprised by the industrial food system. I didn’t know that the farmer is controlling by three or four companies and they redesign the livestock to produce the product faster and bigger. Change chickens to grow in 48 days freak me out; I never know chicken can grow so fast and fat. And now I know why people say America’s meats are cheaper. I have always wonder why there are so many products that look obviously poison to people, such as colorful juice ( it looks like the market is placing rainbow on the shelf), are still in the supermarket but now I know why.

One of the reasons is that we don’t know how the food is poison to us or why it is bad for our health so we don’t try to complain. Ignorance is killing us. It is our responsibility to know and understand what we are buying and also people have right to know how it is produced. Not many people say or try to know how the food has been produced. I was impressed that this movie shows the way our food has been grow and it brought the hidden truth out to the light but there are still many things we don’t know and it is under cover. It is so pathetic that companies are more protected than citizens. It seems so ridiculous to me that the company can still exist even after their food has caused death. I think it is because there are too few of us make any sound. We still choose the cheaper and faster food (we often value money and time more than our health). We always didn’t care until our family members get sick or die by food poisoning like in the movie, a mother fight for her son who was killed by E coli.

I really thought this video affects every individual of us because we all eat food. I hope I can show this video to my family and friends. There are so many things for us to learn about our society and I feel it is so important for us to know what is going on in our world.

  2. I totally agree when you say that ignorance is killing us, we are so worried about our jobs, school and many other things that we forget about our health and try to find the fastest and cheapest way to eat, but that’s only poisoning our bodies little by little and yes the fact that now chickens grow so fast it is kind of scary.

  3. TOTALLY agree that ignorance is killing us, and its really sad because of the economy we only worry about working hard to keep up with the bills and our least concern is our health. Which may not seem that its valuable, but after we end up getting any type of disease thats when our health and medications become much more expensive then any telephone bill or cellphone bill. Its our health we are talking about, something very delicate we always put less attention to. We realy need to change that.

  4. Unfortunately the unhealthy food is sold cheaper then the healthy food, and under the economy we are at, we can't afford to eat healthy food. It's a disgrace to see what these multi million companies are doing to the farmers and to the animals. We have to put a stop to it.

  5. I concur Sho. Our health and families are much more important then a cheap hamburger. Sadly high quality food can be out of reach for some consumers because of cost. However, if one of us ends up in the hospital because we consumed junk food the price of high quality food doesn't seem too costly.

  6. I know what you mean and i totally agree with you although What didnt surprise me is how corporate america is a disaster, taking anyone down with their high powered lawyers. This makes me wish that I could raise my own food because the way these animals and farmers are treated is like a machin

  7. Sho!
I like you priority on families, health and learning more so we can take back some control of our food and our health. If we all spread the information then soon there won't be "too few of us to make a sound"!
